No Freedom for Cagers

Media_httpwwwinverted_ctjyg
The cagers drive in their cages in a frenzy to earn their wages, boxed in, they cannot see, the guy riding freedom, that guy is me, I ride my freedom every day, 2-stroke, thin-bloke, dressed in black, hunched back, fueled by caffeine navigating my steel machine, when I ride I keep it clean, you don't see me, you do not care, occasionally you give a scare, you swerve left, you swerve right, leave little space, it's getting tight, no respect for my means of travel, the way you treat me I'll be kissing gravel, I watch you in your cage, every day, it's just you trapped in there, all the way, it's sad to see so many cages passing by, with just one head, I ask myself why, is there a better way to get to work, without driving your cage like a jerk, respect my freedom, it's small, has two wheels, let me tell you how it feels, I turn the key and the freedom starts, push in the choke and give it a blast, it's quick and quiet for the first stage, then I join the others in their cages, first there's wind in my hair, I'll take my time getting there, I experience freedom along the beach, deep breath, the ocean is within reach, I smell bread baking, coffee brewing, breakfast cooking and.. your exhaust, blowing a great big cloud of black crap in my face, I'm at the lights in front of you, I do not like being in a queue, next time you are in your cage, driving in an epic rage, think about the one who's free, riding along peacefully.

Subaru Forester MY09

Well today we are picking up our new car. A 2009 Subaru Forester. Brand spanking new. It feels like it was only yesterday that I was writing about picking up our 2007 Subaru WRX. Shame I had a little accident in it! Anyway, the new car should provide us with the versatility that we need to cart around little Charlotte and perhaps another kid in the future, go camping, long drives, tow trailers, etc. I'll have some photo's online this weekend hopefully!

Subaru Driver Training Day

A couple of weeks ago we took the WRX up to the AHG Driver Training facility for a skidpan day. It was super fun and the first time that I'd been able to use their short circuit. I used to race at the facility some time ago in my previous car but this was the first time for the WRX. Attendee's were able to get a feel for what their WRX or Liberty could really do out on the track. We did some brake tests and some slalom courses before attacking the circuit. Talk about fun!

2008 Subaru WRX

I guess I'm a nissan man at heart, having built a high quality show/race nissan in the past, however my wife and I recently purchased a 2007 Subaru WRX, new. I guess I was chasing something that handled and drove well (fast) right out of the showroom, without getting my hands dirty. Am I over modifying cars? Of course the purchase of the WRX has re-ignited my desire for racing and modifications. The need for speed perhaps. I will no doubt get back into club racing soon. Recently Subaru released their 2008 WRX for the world to judge. Your thoughts? I dunno, it's okay, my wife hates the look. I guess until I see it in the flesh I cant say too much. It's not exactly ugly, but it doesnt exactly scream 'WRX' either. It's rumored that the STi will be much more agressive. Perhaps this is strategy on behalf of Subaru, to get the customer to lean more toward the STi than the regular WRX. I don't know about everyone else out there, but $46k AUS is plenty on a new car in my opinion. I'd be coughing up around $60k for an Sti.... Here's a couple of pictures of the sedan and hatch. Lets see how sales go when it's released in September (apparently)
