A couple of weeks ago, we took the plunge and purchased our first camper trailer. I wanted something I could tinker with, it had to be Australian Made from top to bottom. When this unit popped up in the local classifieds, we drove two hours to Busselton to take a look and were not disappointed. It looked as good as the photos!
It’s a 2006 “Down Under” off-road camper, made right here in Perth, Western Australia. It’s a 7×4 off-road trailer, 500mm deep, treg (hydraulic) hitch, with 9ft WCT canvas tent and awning.
A few other worthy mentions: huge over-size tool box on front, stone guard, water tank, tailgate kitchen, 3x jerry can holders, 1x 9kg gas bottle holder, gas-strut bed, gas-strut hatch under mattress, all terrain tyres.
It’s a very fancy burgundy and grey and has been named “Jerry” the “cherry” camper by the wife and kids. The previous owner has barely used it, stating it had only around 5,000 km’s on it, the trailer and tent look brand new and the condition is absolutely exceptional.
In the last two weeks I’ve budgeted for a few extras for the camper including:
Insurance & Rego, Primus high-output 2-burner stove, Ladder, tarp, Weber Q 1200 BBQ, oztrail camp bunks, Jimmy’s Thunderbox (toilet), 120W folding solar panel kit, drinking hose (food grade) and water filter.
Still to go are full canvas annex walls, an electrical system, water pump, CGear annex matting, better lighting and a Drifta pull-out kitchen package
